Working With Your Board (When You Are Not in Charge of It)
What a board is for, what to ask of it in year one, and how to brief a chair or committee without overstepping. For the fundraiser who reports to the ED and still needs the board to help.
Through the Higher Ed lens
At this stage you are more likely staffing a foundation board or a dean's advisory council than the full board of trustees, and those members often arrived already primed to give since trustee nomination itself signals capacity and loyalty. The one-pager and ask menu this module teaches map closely onto what advancement offices already send trustees, so your job in year one is less inventing the format than learning which committee actually reads it.
