Culture of Philanthropy: Leading Across the Organization

When program staff, finance, and the front desk understand their role in fundraising, the work gets easier. Building that culture is executive work.

Through the Healthcare lens

This module was practically written for hospital foundations: the worry that donors exploit the people being served is, here, a real concern about patients, and the standard of voluntary participation, patient review of the final story, and program authority to stop it at any point is the consent architecture a grateful-patient program needs regardless of what this module calls it. Because that consent has to run inside HIPAA rather than around it, reporting back to a clinician what their flagged story actually produced matters even more as the trust that keeps them willing to flag anything at all, and only a CEO or chief medical officer can make philanthropy part of clinical staff's actual expectations.
