How Fundraising Works
The map you weren't given: where the money comes from, why people give, and what a development program is made of.
Through the Faith-Based lens
In most parishes the revenue map is already backward from what a new fundraiser expects: pledges and plate giving from parishioner households carry the budget, not diocesan or foundation support, and the donor base is really the membership roll under another name. Because giving reads as a spiritual practice here, the reasons people give land differently too: trust in leadership and a personal ask from clergy or a fellow parishioner outperform any mailed appeal, and the retention cliff shows up as the family that gave steadily through their children's years in religious education and quietly stopped once those years ended.
